Waiting for mommy

On a normal day the puppies see their dad way before mom gets off work. But now they are used to the time that mommy comes home. So to wait they sit on the chair and wait. They sit and look out the window until mommy pulls in the driveway. They know mom is home before daddy does!

Pugs Can Swim

My pugs Amir and Bubba swim, so every pug can.
Most of people say that pugs can't swim , it's true because the shape of their body but they aren't all the same.
If you want your pug to swim, you need to start taking it to the beach at an early age. I used to take my pugs to the beach twice a week and now, a year and half later, they like the water.
It's true that they swim for a short time, but I don't believe that it's because their body however it's because of their breathing capability.
Take your pugs to the water more often, let them play in it, get used to it, play with other dogs in it and they will eventually learn how to swim. It's natural for them like for every dog, but it's also their quick learning from seeing other dogs doing it. Pugs are a very smart dogs and they pick up new things quick.
There are always exceptions to every rule, forget what people can tell you and start teaching your pug how to swim. You will have to go in the water with your pug at first to make them more comfortable but eventually they won't need you to go in with them. They will start going in by themselves.
Don't let your pug around your pool or hot tub, again not because their swimming capability but because their breathing capability.
A pug can swim, but supervision is necessary.

Amir Walking himself

Whenever we walk to take Amir & Bubba outside, we have to put the leashes on them. Amir always takes his leash and tries to walk himself. Sometimes he will even take his brothers leash and try to walk his brother. As if we will let him walk himself or his brother, he's crazy!

Sleeping

These pugs have all sorts of funny sleeping positions. One thing is that because they are brothers and were brought up together, they love to sleep with each other. You can tell that they really love each other!

Pug or Person?

Bubba is lounging in the afternoon sun! He is too good to lay in the grass, he thinks he is a person and sits in chair to sunbathe. Doesn't he look like he is posing for some sort of ad for a magazine?

Bubba is wearing a Moroccan soccer jeresy. His dad put it on him when him and his brother were playing with a small soccer ball that they eventually tore to pieces.

First Christmas

The puppies first Christmas. We bought Santa hats for them but every time we tried to put them on, they would just try to bite the white ball on the end of the hats. This was the only time we actually got the hats on the puppies and they stayed still just long enough to snap our Christmas picture.

Both Bubba and Amir got two wrapped presents each. Each time one would investigate one of the gifts the other puppy would go after the same gift. Finally they opened their gifts and fought over the squeaky stuffed animals inside.

Chewing on bones

The puppies both chewing on their bones on their bed. It took them some time to realize that this was their bed but they got used to it now. They love to chew on small bones. This was one of those rare occasions that they actually weren't fighting over the same bone.

Amir the Prince

Amir lives up to the meaning of his name, Prince. Above he has snuggled between two pillows. Below he falls asleep feeling most comfortable in his parents bed.

Two pugs is definitely better than one. Amir & Bubba are constantly playing together, one trying to dominate over the other. Here Bubba was trying to sleep but Amir wouldn't let him and sat right on top of him to wake him up. Silly puppies!

Driving in the car

Bubba & Amir love to drive in the car. They especially love to look out the window and bark at anything that goes by. Unfortunately we have to keep them in the back seat when driving even though they love to sit in my lap, but with the two of them its hard to keep them still. Now that they are bigger it is a hazard to keep them in my lap. Pugs stay pretty small though so I'm never afraid that they will jump out the window.

First Boat Trip

Over the summer we rented a boat and brought the puppies with us. They loved it! We took them to the dog beaches ever since they were puppies that way they could get used to the water. Everyone that we met told us that pugs can't swim but our pugs prove them all wrong. They were skeptical at first but now when we take them to the dog beach they immediately run into the water. It was hard keeping them on the boat especially when we went swimming but they sun bathed and slept a lot. I can't wait to bring them on the boat again!

Happy Birthday to my two babies, Amir & Bubba! On January 29th they turned 1 year old.
Now that they are adult dogs we have started noticing them maturing. But they will always stay puppies in our eyes!

My Pugs

I have two Pugs, Bubba & Amir. I have always wanted to own pugs because I thought they were such cute dogs but I was always told they have such bad health problems, ie. skin problems, breathing problems, nose problems. The list goes on and on. But when my boyfriend and I decided to get dogs I knew that it had to be a pug. What ended up being 1 puppy turned into 2 pug puppies. I searched on Kijiji.com and found a breeder about 30 minutes from me. Her pugs are registered with the AKC, purebread and have a long line of champions. She allowed us to come out and see the puppies before we even put down a deposit. Once we decided we signed a contract with her and kept in touch over the phone, and through email until we were able to pick up the puppies. Since we have had them they continue to get cuter everyday. And I'm not just saying this but these are the cutest pugs I have ever seen (even though as their mom I have to say that). We are coming up on their 1st birthday and I still feel like they are puppies.
